What's the real solution to joint pain?

Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) commonly used to relieve pain from various, minor conditions such as headaches, dental pain, menstrual cramps, muscle aches, or arthritis. However, many people are not aware of the dangers of ibuprofen, overuse of ibuprofen as painkillers can lead to some unhealthy problems that can greatly put you at risk for unforeseen health issues.

Over the counter painkillers such as ibuprofen are not as safe and wreak havoc on areas of the body that we may not realize for years. Common side effects of ibuprofen include nausea, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal ulceration/bleeding, raised liver enzymes, diarrhea, constipation, epistaxis (nose bleed), headache, dizziness, priapism, rash, salt and fluid retention, and hypertension (high blood pressure) to name a few.

Regular ibuprofen use can cause hypogonadism or a condition that can lead to male infertility, erectile dysfunction, depression or loss of bone and muscle mass. It can also cause hormonal disruptions and produce less testosterone. While dealing with pain, it is important to think of root cause and address it long-term, not just the immediate short-term effects and results.

While the average person believes an Advil or Motrin (both contain ibuprofen) is harmless, regular use can cause negative effects and put your health in dire condition.

As athletes, most will use ibuprofen to temporarily suppress joint pain and inflammation from sports injuries. It suppresses one’s natural immunity and ability to proliferate healthy cells. It's not recommended to use ibuprofen as your primary pain management method. It can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with or without established heart disease. Use an alternative medication such as Tylenol or short-term naproxen instead.

If you do take ibuprofen, take it at the lowest dose for the shortest period possible. Other ways of managing pain is by regular use of a heating pad. We find this simple device to be extremely helpful in relieving pain. Its consistent use is highly recommended and, in some cases, can eliminate the need for any pain medications.

A more effective and promising, non-surgical treatment is regenerative cell therapy, this can help reduce pain, improve your mobility and help you avoid dangerous pain medications/surgery.  Regenerative cell therapy or “stem cell therapy” in mainstream terms, utilize your own regenerative cells to heal and restore your damaged ligaments, cartilage or menisci, whether it’s a knee, shoulder, hip or any painful joint in your body.

Give your body a chance to heal itself naturally with your own cells and not from an outside source.  This procedure is minimally invasive, very safe and offers a quick and easy recovery. Given how badly ibuprofen and similar drugs can affect our cells, it is often advisable to not use these drugs closer to your procedure. They certainly limit the ability of your cells to regenerate and repair.
